Veterinary Diagnostic Testing in Onondaga County
At Liverpool Animal Health Center, we know that many symptoms cannot be seen by the naked eye alone. Our advanced diagnostic technology helps our veterinarians provide faster, more accurate diagnoses for your pets. Whether you have a pregnant dog in need of an ultrasound or a cat presenting strange symptoms, we are ready to get them back on all four paws.
Radiology
We utilize a radiograph (also known as an x-ray) to photograph inside your pet’s body. These images can be used by our veterinarians to evaluate your pet’s bones and organs, including the heart, lungs, and abdominal organs to diagnose any internal issues.
Radiography is a safe, non-invasive and painless method of imagery. We use very low amounts of radiation when taking x-rays which means that this method is safe for even very young or pregnant animals. By using radiography, we can detect issues with your pet’s health faster.
Radiology can help detect:
- Bladder stones
- Broken bones
- Cancer/ tumors
- Chronic arthritis
- Heart disease
- Kidney disease
- Liver disease
- Spinal cord diseases
Ultrasound
Diagnostic ultrasound is a highly useful tool in veterinary medicine that helps our medical experts manage and diagnose a variety of conditions in real-time as opposed to individual images. Our state-of-the-art technology provides an in-depth view at your pet’s organs.
Ultrasound is a diagnostic technique that uses ultrasound waves to produce an image. Unlike radiology, no radiation is used when conducting an ultrasound. Ultrasonography is completely painless to your pet.
Ultrasound can help our veterinarians to view:
- Fetal health in pregnant pets
- Heart
- Liver
- Spleen
- Gallbladder
- Kidneys
