Bio

Dr. Hagg grew up in Corning, NY and earned a Bachelor of Science in environmental engineering from Cornell University. During her studies, Dr. Hagg taught outdoor physical education courses (tree climbing, backpacking, snowshoeing and canoeing). After graduating from Cornell, Dr. Hagg spent three years as an Outward Bound wilderness instructor for at-risk teens in Maine, Florida and Alabama. She enjoyed mentoring students in life skills through the challenge and adventure of wilderness expeditions. Dr. Hagg also spent time in eastern Wyoming and western Nebraska while working as a veterinary assistant before attending veterinary school. Dr. Hagg graduated from Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine in Harrogate, TN. During vet school, she studied mixed animal acupuncture at the Chi Institute and is now a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA). Her husband works locally as a commercial hazmat driver. Dr. Hagg and Mr. Burgess met while they were both instructors for Outward Bound. They share a love for the outdoors and adventure. Together they are proud pup parents to Dina (Chocolate Lab and Australian Shepherd), Tyson (Black Lab and Jack Russel), Luna (Black Lab) and Largo (Doberman Pinscher).
